 VISITING

"I have returned to Amoraleza on a number of occasions.

For me it is like a piece of paradise here on earth, not only because of the beautiful nature, the tasty, healthy vegan raw-food or the powerful workshops that one can find there but because of the community, the beautiful people, and the inspiring personal connections which are forged in every visit.

I recommend visiting Amoraleza for anybody who is interested to witness how a different kind of life is possible and be transformed themselves." - Ido H.

Get Involved

The Mission of our Volunteer Program is to provide a mutually beneficial space for personal development, learning and spiritual evolution.

It is a chance to connect more deeply with Nature, learn about permaculture, nutrition and neo-shamanism and experience a community dynamic.

THE FARM

Situated at the west entrance of the Sierra Nevada National Park, in a beautiful natural environment, Amoraleza offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. During the day, you will be able to take advantage of our permaculture garden, as well as the hundred year old olive trees that keep watch over the land. Our natural swimming pool will cool you down on hot summer days and the nights will be provide a magical setting to reconnect with the elements and contemplate the stars.

The proximity of the hiking trails will enable you to make the most of the surroundings and the landscapes filled with the history of the Alpujarras, through the ruins and acequias, ancient water channels that still irrigate the farms located in the mountains.

You are welcome to self-cater in the communal kitchen, or share a homemade meal with the members of Amoraleza, prepared with love. The dome offers a shady place to relax during the day, perfect for meditating, playing music, reading or practising yoga.

Expect basic comfort, not luxury. There are outdoor compost toilets and hot showers. Internet access is available, but there is no Wi-Fi on the grounds.

THE REGION

The community is located between the Sierra Nevada and the Costa Tropical, 45 minutes from the beach and Granada. More specifically, it is in the Alpujarras Mountains, between Orgiva and Lanjarón, close to many other alternative communities.

On Thursday mornings, the market in Orgiva provides a good opportunity to relax on a terrace and enjoy the cultural diversity and richness of a town that is home to people of over 60 different nationalities.

The area is also well known for its hiking trails and traditional white-washed villages. It is also possible to go horseback riding, enjoy surrounding rivers and waterfalls or visit the Buddhist monastery of the region.

In Granada, the former capital of the last Muslim kingdom in Spain (from the XIIIth - XVth century), you can discover the Albaicin (ancient Moorish district), the Sacromonte caves and the Alhambra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. On the way, you could stop in Lanjarón, famous for its crystal clear water and its thermal baths.

The region has many other surprises in store and the diversity of the Alpujarras will amaze you!
