Ashtanga Yoga, Capoeira and Wim Hof Breathing Retreat
5 Days of Movement and Breath
June 22nd - 26th 2019
This is a fun, dynamic retreat for those who love movement and music. We offer a unique combination of Ashtanga yoga, capoeira and the Wim Hof breathing technique to help move the energy in the body, build strength and vitality, relieve stress and boost the immune system while relaxing the mind and feeding the soul.
We offer daily Ashtanga yoga classes, introduction to Vipassana meditation and the Wim Hof breathing technique. In the afternoon there is free time to relax and swim in our natural spring-fed pool and we will finish the day with a Capoeira class before having a light dinner. All activities are held in our large geodesic dome and in the evening there is space to share and make music. On the final evening we will celebrate with a cacao ceremony.
We take a step-by-step approach during yoga practice, taking advantage of the closed system of Ashtanga Yoga, always following the same sequence of asanas which are organized in a way to prepare for the ones that follow. You will come away with the
ability to do your own daily practice at home, with a good grounding in many of the asanas of the Primary Series. Emphasis is placed on proper alignment and technical details so that you can safely do your own practice at home.
Capoeira is a lively form of Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, rhythm and movement and helps develop agility, strength, flexibility and endurance.
Wim Hof breathing is a rhythmic, deep-breathing technique that allows us to influence the body’s physiological responses and increase energy levels, strength and endurance. It has been found to be especially helpful in reducing stress levels, improving sleep and increasing focus and clarity.
